As Civil Court Users Association (CCUA) Members may be aware, Rob Thompson will be standing down as CCUA Chair at the AGM on 9 September, at which point he will have reached the end of the maximum term of five years permitted by the Articles of Association.

In preparation for that, Rob has resigned as Chair of the Association’s Policy and Reform committee, although he will remain a member of the committee until finally standing down fully on 9 September. Jim Taylor of Glenbrow Consulting Limited has been elected as Chair of the Committee with immediate effect.

Rob Thompson commented:

“I have been honoured to Chair the CCUA Policy and Reform committee since its inception around a decade ago. I feel that it is important that I now step aside to allow for fresh ideas and impetus. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time chairing the committee and I would like to sincerely thank all those I have worked with over the years for their contributions.

“I am thrilled that Jim has taken over as Chair, having worked with him for many years. It is fantastic to leave the committee in such great hands and I wish him and the committee all the best for the future.”

Jim Taylor added:

“I’d like to thank Rob for all his hard work with the CCUA Policy and Reform committee over the last ten years.  His efforts on behalf of the membership have been and are truly appreciated.  I am looking forward to working with the existing Committee (to which we intend to add) and the membership of the CCUA to support the Association’s continued aims to influence HMCTS, MOJ and other stakeholders for the benefit of all court users.”

The new overall Chair of the CCUA will be announced following the AGM.
