The Civil Court Users Association (CCUA) periodically awards the Jeremy Chaplin Memorial Award, which recognises outstanding services to court users. The latest recipient of the award has been named as Susie Basi of the Clerkenwell and Shoreditch County Court.

Jeremy Chaplin was a former Chair of the CCUA who sadly only served a short term before being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

CCUA Chair Rob Thompson said:

“The service Susie provides to court users within her role at Clerkenwell & Shoreditch County Court is truly exceptional and, in our view, goes far beyond that experienced from anybody else at a similar level within the Court Service nationwide. Over the last 18 months, she has transformed the speed with which court user issues are resolved when we raise them.

“This award serves as a token of our appreciation and recognition of her valuable contribution as someone who can inspire others working in similar roles.”

Susie has been invited as a guest to CCUA’s Annual House of Lords Dinner on 13 June 2024 where she will be formally presented with the award.
