Following a consultation last year, the Ministry of Justice has published plans to increase 202 court and tribunal fees by 10%. This is expected to generate between approximately £34 million and £42 million a year, which they state will go directly towards improving HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) delivery.

CCUA Chair Rob Thompson says:

“Despite the reservations set out in our consultation response, it has been announced that selected court fees will rise in May 2024. Full details can be found here, with the exact date of the increases yet to be announced.”

Update 25/04/2024: The increases will take effect on 01/05/2024. Scroll down to Annex B here to find a full list of the changes which are being implemented.
