As part of its ongoing commitment to improve services and ensure a seamless experience for users, HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is now requesting that all Writs of Control applications are sent to the Civil National Business Centre (CNBC) to be issued.
The current business centre performance data for Writs processing can be found here.
By moving this area from the courts to the National Services’ team, where there is increased resourcing, HMCTS aims to enhance efficiency, allowing courts to focus resources on core administrative tasks, and facilitating court proceedings.
From the 31st March 2025, please use the following addresses to submit your applications for Writs of Control directly to the CNBC:
- Mailbox: Writs.CNBC@justice.gov.uk
- District Registry to be noted: Northampton District Registry (This must be entered as such or the form will be returned)
- Address:
Civil National Business Centre (CNBC)
St. Katharine’s House
21-27 St. Katharine’s Street
Northampton
NN1 2LH - DX: 702885 Northampton 7
Whilst HMCTS is requesting all applications to be sent to the CNBC from the 31st March, it is able to
receive applications prior to this date as the resources to support this work is now in place.
