The government has responded to the Justice Committee Report on Work of the County Court.

Jim Taylor, Chair of Civil Court Users Association’s (CCUA) Policy & Reform Committee, said:

“The government has submitted its response to the Justice Committee’s report on the ‘Work of the County Court.’ The government has acknowledged the extensive challenges that the civil justice system, as it operates within the County Court, faces.

“Whilst it has not committed to a full root and branch review, many of the report’s recommendations have been accepted. The CCUA looks forward to working with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) to support implementation of those recommendations and to improve the County Court for the benefit of all users.”
